We celebrated Jeshua’s third spin around the sun with a retro “To Infini-3 & Beyond” space themed party.
He keeps our heads and hearts spinning! At three he is a darling rascal - always curious and into mischief! Lovable, resourceful, and determined, his isms have us laughing: “I love you all myself” (I love you), “Mommy, where’s my mouse?” (he loses that nearly as often as he plays with it), “No, I can’t love it” (I don’t like that), “Ha-ha-ha” (his exaggerated evil laugh when he has done something he knows is wrong). Most evenings, Zade and I have a chuckle over his exploits of the day.
This was originally going to be a “friend” party, but with the unique time in which we find ourselves, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we celebrated small and utilized crafts and recyclables we already had around the house. The kids helped paint the cardboard planets and I surprised them with the rocket ship made from a mattress box we’d received the week earlier. Speaking of mattresses - we used the old mattress we are discarding as a “moon bounce” for the party! We served a potato bar (baked potatoes wrapped in tin foil with all the fixings) and brussels sprouts for dinner. The birthday moon cake was vanilla flavor, baked using a Wilton ball bake pan, and decorated with a rocket ship toy , star candles, and golden moon dust sprinkles. Our cosmic party hats were constructed using spray painted shake tops, wooden balls, chenille pipe cleaners, and metal washers. The birthday boy’s hat was made from a spray painted plastic sand bucket, shake top, chenille pipe cleaners wrapped around a wooden skewer, metal washers, and wooden balls. The AstroRay Dart Blaster Space Gun’s (reproductions from the 1960’s) were the perfect party entertainment / birthday gift.
Jeshua, you are “out of this world” and I “love you all myself!” Happy golden birthday!
