We’d planned golden hour portraits following the sparker departure. We didn’t foresee that a thunderstorm would leave us soaked or that a hearty drizzle would remain falling throughout the night. But, Grace + Jeremy didn’t hesitate to venture under the open sky for a few more moments to romance in the rain.

There is sweetness in spending your wedding day in the places most familiar to you. Having your makeup and hair styled by your sister and friends, within your childhood home, wherein you spent countless sleepovers where secrets were entrusted. Now, a love from the other side of the world returning with you to share vows under the blue sky at a park just minutes away. During the reception a sudden torrential thunderstorm left everyone and everything soaked. Their smiles merely grew wider. As they journey away from their own homes and create a new one together, my prayer is that they will always handle all storms of life with joy in their hearts.

A rescheduled wedding due to a global pandemic. Forever a part of their love story.

Jacob + Emily win the award as my most adventurous couple ever. It was like something out of the “Going on a Bear Hunt” song to get to this field (over the thigh high grass - swishy swishy, through the mud - glop glop glop, over the broken bridge - eek eek eek) except instead of a bear that chased us home it was mosquitos! But, they remained so sunny throughout! And, I think we captured some glorious shots.
Terrifyingly, I lost my car key in the field where we were shooting! By the time I realized it was gone, it was minutes away from complete darkness…and I had no way to get home. Emily and Jacob’s families took a sojourn with me to the field to help me look and GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST I found it! It was a miracle and I still feel a bit shook!

Henry + Hanna
Brimming with joy, tenderness, passion, hope, and grace. Full of the Spirit. Their wedding day was cold, graced with the season’s last snow underfoot.

They go together like a wink and a smile.
I have known Andrew since he was a wild thing, running everywhere and tackling everything with his pack of middle school boys. He is full of joviality and the best kind of humor - the sort that lifts up instead of tears down. Wasn’t it just yesterday I was capturing his senior photos? Now, he has wedded the song in his heart: Katie. They met their first day at Ball State. Both music majors. My favorite moment of the wedding was when they surprised their parents with a serenade: she singing Misty by Ella Fitzgerald and he on his trumpet. What a joy to be a part of their day.
