"When on thy lovely vale I stand to gaze,
I feel thou need'st from me no meed of praise:
Thy hanging woods, thy fountains, and thy bowers,
Thy dashing floods, thy landscapes, and thy flowers,
Thy bold grey rocks, thy healthy purple fells,
Where silent solitude with beauty dwells ;"
On Bingley by John Nicholson
The rain drizzled gently throughout the wedding day. Unexpected yet romantic.
A tender, unhurried ceremony encircled by dear friends and family. A restored carriage house booked remarkably through Airbnb. Unique pizza baked and then savored inside a double decker bus. Toasting, desserts, and dancing in the candlelit night.
Thank you to Jake and Brittney for letting me be a part of their tender day.
I polished off a slice of Locally Grown Garden's infamous sweet cream pie before Jaelyn, Vincent, and their darling toddler Lyla arrived for their family session. It's worth its acclaim and just as sweet as this trio.
Did you miss Jaelyn's greenhouse senior session?
Four daughters. A modern "Little Women."
Nearly a year ago my sister adorned a shimmering dress and eloped to a Colorado mountaintop to wed her long at last love Dillon. On the eve of New Year's Eve they renewed their vows with family and friends in an intimate, winter celebration.
Their affection first dawned on the volcanic Hawaiian terrain as secret middle school loves. He was a skater and she a dreamer. But, his heart wasn't ready. He walked his own way for a number of years...a prodigal heart. But, she always held the light of him aglow in her heart...waiting. Years were traveled. High school...college...jobs. For her, the quiet love still alight. Then, wisdom awakened and he returned to God. When they met again, at his sister's wedding, hearts and timing were right. They knew. Love was kindled. To be near each other Courtney pulled on her boots and joined Dillon on a three month job salmon fishing the frigid waters of the Bering Sea. On the day of their elopement, he fittingly gave his seaworthy love a necklace with the words inscribed "for the one who almost got away."
I rejoiced to witness this fire brought to flame as bridesmaid and photographer. A special thanks to my brother in law Nathan who took up the camera during the ceremony and bridal party photos I was in!
